Back to Structure of a PBL

How do you incorporate Voice and Choice in PBL?

VOICE and CHOICE means providing opportunities for students to share their ideas, opinions, and solutions as well as make decisions based on personal preference, interest, and background knowledge throughout the PBL process. Voice refers to students’ ability and opportunity to have a say in the decision making processes that govern the classroom as well as the solutions to the problems addressed in the PBL Unit. Choice refers to students’ ability and opportunity to be active decision makers in how a classroom operates as well as to pursue their own interests and solutions through the course of each PBL Unit. This page serves as a guide for better understanding voice and choice, as well provides blogs, videos and resources for developing voice and choice throughout your Project Based Learning Unit.
