What is the difference between PBL and a project?

Project Based Learning is likely different from the projects we did in school. The projects we did in school were often the capstone to our learning. Magnify Learning believes facilitators should launch a Project Based Learning unit by revealing the problem at the very beginning. What problem will learners be solving? Let them know right away, so they know WHY they are learning the standards they are learning. The most common classroom question from learners is always, “Why do we need to learn this?” so we figure you should tell them the why right up front. Then they have a frame of reference for the rest of their learning.
