How Do I Plan a PBL? Series #1:

Standards

Project Based Learning needs to have a foundation of standards, so that it can be most effective for you and your learners. Standards are the springboard for the PBL unit we are engaging in. We want to find those beefy power standards that we know will most benefit our learners as they work their way through school and life. At Magnify Learning, we advocate in our PBL Jumpstart workshops that you start with standards as you build out your PBL unit. If your Project Based Learning unit isn’t rooted in standards, you aren’t going to be able to find a place for it in your year.
