What is your "WHY" for teaching? My "why" is to facilitate meaningful learning experiences that provide value to the lives of others. My life is better because of my students and colleagues. I aim to provide a return on their investment in me by facilitating meaningful experiences for them.

Area of Expertise: My expertise is in Health and Physical Education.

What is your PBL experience? I was lucky enough to attend Magnify Learning PBL Training between University graduation and my first day of teaching at STEAM Academy in Lexington, KY. I have been using PBL as my primary mode of instruction since 2015, and I began facilitating Magnify Learning workshops in 2022.

What is your favorite aspect of PBL? Project Based Learning transforms my classroom into a space for authentic curiosity and communication about meaningful and relevant life conversations. Effective PBL generates genuine engagement and motivation in my students and gives me great joy and job satisfaction.

Why do you enjoy facilitating? I love learning from other teachers. Facilitating PBL training, formally and informally, is an excellent opportunity to learn from other professionals and understand the connectedness of the school experience while building their skills and confidence to implement PBL in their classrooms.
