What is your “WHY” for teaching? I teach because I want to give all kids the opportunities and tools to take the world by storm.

Area of Expertise: My content expertise is English and social studies. I am also our school’s senior project coordinator. My favorite thing, however, is creating culture in my classroom, in my school, and in the teaching profession.

 PBL Experience: I just completed my tenth year of teaching in a wall-to-wall PBL school. I have also facilitated PBL training for Magnify Learning for several years and previously trained in the New Tech Network.

What is the importance of coaching? Coaching supports facilitators on their journey from PBL Jumpstart to their PBL classroom. It's that extra step that enhances success and embraces failure.

What do you enjoy about coaching? The best part about coaching is working alongside a facilitator as they discover their own PBL super powers.

How has coaching helped your own PBL practice? Reflecting on how to articulate a PBL idea helps me slow down, think critically, and question my own practice. The result is a more thoughtful understanding of my choices. It's powerful.
