Magnify Learning Core Values

Magnify Learning is an organization that embodies the core values of culture, authenticity, and customization. We strive to model these values internally and in all of the work with do with teachers, leaders, schools, and districts. Our work revolves around creating healthy, vibrant relational culture, providing a clear framework for building authentic PBL Units, and offering customization that takes into account the unique needs of every learner, school, and district we partner with.

Culture

We believe in the importance of building a relational culture with and for the educators we partner with, which then translates to their relationships with students.

  1. We share our lives beyond the classroom.

  2. We use protocols to provide opportunities for voice and connection.

  3. We respect the craft of teaching and treat it with professionalism.

  4. We recognize and value the differences and experiences each educator brings with them.

  5. We invite and offer the support of a PBL community beyond our workshops.

Authenticity

We have a high regard for and continually seek authenticity in PBL Workshops and PBL Units created, because we believe it leads to deeper learning and greater engagement. We value the modeling of PBL best practices and processes and ensure that all we do serves to put PBL in action.

PBL Units:

  1. We help educators create PBL Units based upon real-world, authentic challenges, problems, and issues.

  2. We incorporate community partners into all PBL Units.

  3. We teach that PBL best practice and design involves the inclusion and incorporation of workplace/employability skills.

PBL Workshops & Coaching:

  1. We not only teach, but also demonstrate the nuts and bolts of PBL and the PBL process.

  2. We use protocols that are effective and have multiple applications with both adult and student learners.

  3. We model engagement strategies that educators can use in the classroom.

  4. Our PBL Resources are designed and field-tested by PBL Certified facilitators.

  5. Our PBL Workshops are led by PBL Certified facilitators with practical classroom experience.

  6. We equip educators to practice PBL effectively in their classrooms and schools upon completion of our Workshops.

Customization

We are committed to providing a customized experience for the educators and school leaders we partner with, to honor the good work they are already doing and enable the sustainability of PBL.

  1. For every PBL Workshop, we tailor the training to the expressed needs of our partners.

  2. Within the training framework we customize daily workshop agendas based on the needs and interests of workshop participants.

  3. PBL Coaching sessions are based on the ongoing needs of participants and are designed to specifically support their individual PBL processes.
